Car Detailing Prices Explained: What You Actually Pay For

Every detailer quotes "from" prices and it frustrates people, reasonably. So here is the honest version: what our starting prices are, what pushes a job above them, and what you can do to keep the number down.

A Safe Wash is £30 +, a Valet is £60 + and a Deep Clean is £120 +. Machine polishing and ceramic coating are quoted on the car, because the work needed on a two-year-old hatchback and a ten-year-old estate with swirled paint are not the same job at all.

We write those as "£30 +" rather than "from £30" deliberately. It is a floor, not a headline number with conditions buried underneath it, and we confirm the exact figure before any work starts.

Size is the obvious one. A seven-seater or a van has more panels, more glass and a lot more carpet than a supermini, and takes proportionally longer.

Condition matters more than most people expect. A car that has been valeted in the last few months is quick work. One with two years of embedded grime, pet hair through the carpets or paint that has never been decontaminated takes hours longer to bring to the same standard.

Access plays a part too. A driveway with space to work all the way round and an outside tap is straightforward. On-street with no water nearby is doable, we carry our own, but it changes how long the job takes.

And timing: same-day and out-of-hours call-outs carry a priority supplement, because fitting you in means moving somebody else.

Vehicle detailing on vans, trucks, caravans and motorhomes is quoted individually rather than off a list, for the same size-and-condition reasons. If you are running several vehicles, a scheduled fleet wash works out materially cheaper per vehicle than booking them one at a time, and it is invoiced properly for the accounts.

Book the right service first time. Paying £60 for a Valet on an interior that needed a Deep Clean means paying twice, which is why we would rather talk you up front than disappoint you after.

Then stay on top of it. Once a car has had a Deep Clean, Polishing or Protection package, our Maintenance Plan keeps it at that standard on a recurring visit at a lower rate than one-off bookings. Regular upkeep is always cheaper than periodic rescue jobs.
